EGGS TRASHED IN THE NESTBOX
Budgerigar breeding will always present challenges which we must overcome as with life some of the old ways are always best. When we find eggs trashed we must consider whether the paired birds are just telling us they have had enough or are unwell.
Also we have the birds that seem to take pleasure in just destroying eggs we then have decide is it the cock or hen who is the culprit. It’s happened to me in the past and the advice given to me definitely helped and cured the problem.
The advice given was to make a mustard egg then you will know who is the culprit and it should stop it happening again. The bird that smashes the mustard egg is in for a surprise and should be sneezing and slightly stained about the beak…. hehe that will teach them.
