Since coming back into the hobby l had a number of problems which needed to overcome patience being one, forcing the bird to breed when not ready has set me back little but it becoming to come together now. Other rules forgotten seems to be locking the hen out the nestbox for a while when she starts laying for it seems my hens seem to sit the eggs once the first egg is laid which has resulted in only 1 egg out of 5 being fertile.

Judging how long to keep the hen out of the box depends on what type of nestbox used but the main rule don't let the eggs become cold. It would be nice to lock the hen out in the morning's but with work that is not possible so it going to have be done in the evening after work.
